For example, I receive a gift from someone or someone, which makes me over the moon, I will write about that emotion in my diary. Or when I feel bad, I write down my thoughts and emotion, too.

  • When do you often write you diary?
I often write my diary at the end of the day, generally before I go to bed. At that time, I can think back everything happened and put my thoughts and emotion in order. Sometimes when a truly shocking accident happens, I write my diary immediately to get relieved.

54. COLLECTING STAMPS

  • Do you like collecting stamps? If yes, why? If not, why not?
Stamps-collecting is one of the most popular hobbies in the world. I love collecting stamps because it’s very interesting. Stamps can teach us about history, different cultures, sports, nature and science etc.

  •  What difficulties do you face when you collect them?
The first difficulty is the high cost of stamps. I have to spend so much money collecting them. Secondly, collecting stamps is a time-consuming job. It takes me a lot of time to collect, arrange and store them well.

  • Is it useful for your life and is there any time when you want to give it up?
Although collecting stamps is not an easy task, I love it. I really love learning about history and culture of foreign countries through stamps. It’s a very amazing way to connect yourself to the world.

55. DREAM

  • Have you ever had a great dream for your life? If yes, Why? If no, why not?
When I was little I had a very beautiful dream. I dreamed about traveling around the world, meeting a lot of friends who have different skin colors.

  • Do you think that our life will become very demotivating if we don’t have positive dreams?
I agree, because when we have positive dreams, we will try our best to realize our dreams.

  •  What is your dream job?
I dream of becoming a famous actor. I go to film everywhere and everyone knows me.

Yes. I’m crazy about taking photos with my friends, because the pictures will save our good memories.

I like taking pictures outdoors, in the mountains, in the sea, in beautiful landscapes. These photos are like a record of places I’ve been to and memories I’ve got with them.

  • Do you want to take photos for others or have your photos taken by others?
I both want to take photos for others and have my photos taken by others. They always give me a sense of fulfilment.

57. YOUR ROOM

  •  Please describe your room you live in
I live with my family in a cozy house with a small yard. My room is in the first floor and it’s about 20 square metres big. I decorated it by myself with pictures and flowers. There is a big bookshelf in my room so that I can easily get books to read. My room has three windows, therefore it’s very airy. I seldom need the air-conditioner, even on hot summer days.
  • Is there anything you don’t like about the room where you live in?
I would love to have a little bit bigger room, so that I can buy myself a bigger working desk. My current one is small and I don’t have enough place for stuffs, especially when I correct the students’ works.
  • What can you see when you look out of the window of your room?
When I look out of the southern window of my room I see my neighbors’ houses. To be honest, I don’t like this view. But from the other windows I can see our yard with many flowers and trees. I love looking out there, because it makes me feel so relaxed.

58. FESTIVALS

  • What are some special celebrations in your country?
There are plenty of cultural evens that are only celebrated during certain times of the year. Some are national festivals, but some are celebrated regionally. In the North of Vietnam there are many festivals, which take place in the early of the year, such as Lunar new year, Perfume Pagoda festival, Hung King temple festival, Lim festival etc.

  • What is the most important festival in your country? What do people often do to celebrate this special holiday?
Lunar New Year, locally called Tet, is the biggest festival of the year with the whole country. Principally it’s a religious celebration, which is organized for family meeting. Family members gather together and enjoy several traditional meals. They also go to pagodas together and pray for a happy new year.

  • Do you enjoy festivals? Why (not)?
In general I like celebrating festivals, because on these days I don’t have to go to work and I have time for myself and my family. But sometimes I also feel stressed because of celebrations, especially the lunar new year. On this occasion I usually have to cook and do the washing all day long. It’s totally boring!

59. FOOD

  • What is your favorite food?
My favorite food is pizza because pizza smells good and taste good. When I eat pizza I always feel happy and glad. I want to go to America because there are many famous hamburgers and pizza stores there.

  •  Do you think every one should learn how to cook? Why?
I think everyone should learn to cook because it makes you become more independent in the future. One day when your siblings are not around anymore you need to have the ability to take care of yourself not to starve. Also if you have a family in your future you would want to have a healthy homemade cooked meal for your partner when he gets home from a hard day at work. Also, you need to cook nutrition foods for your kids to grow properly.

  • Do you eat at home or outside?
I prefer cooking at home. Cooking is fun and it's a nice way to relax and get rid of some stress. Besides, when you make the meat, you can control how much butter, oil, sugar and salt are added to food, so you can have chance to eat healthier foods.

60. EDUCATION

  • What are popular subjects in your country?
In the integrated world, Vietnam is not an exception when computer and language skills are among the most popular subjects with the other two being economics and law.

  • What are your favorite classes / courses / subjects at university?
My favorite subject at college was Vietnamese cultural basis. It was a compulsory subject for those who majored in foreign languages like me. I explored many fastinating cultural values of our country before comparing them with foreign ones.

  • What is your major? why did you choose it?
I majored in Russian language teaching. When I was child, I dreamed to become a teacher of Russian. I love children because they make my life meaningful. Besides, this work gives me more time to take care of my family. Last but not least, as a teacher of Russian, I had more chance to learn about Russia, one of the most admirable countries in the world.

61. WATCHING TV

  • Do you like watching TV?
I don’t depend on television, but it is really hard to imagine my life without it. I watch TV practically every day, especially while having dinner and after finishing the meal. I think this is a great way for me to relax after a long day at work.
  • What types of TV programmes do you (most) like to watch?
There's a lot of good stuff on TV if you know where to look. The program I like most is the News at 7 p.m on VTV1 or VTV3. The reason why I like this program is that it’s very informative. It seems to be a “window to the world” with me. By watching it, I can learn about many things that are happening in the world without going there. Moreover, my favorite programs are comedies else. I like them because I like to laugh. After working hard for hours, it’s time for me to relax and refresh myself, I like sitting on my sofa and enjoying them; it’s so comfortable.
  • Do you prefer watching film alone or going to the cinema with your friend?
It depends on the type of film. Normally, I prefer watching film alone at home. But I can ask my friends to go the cinema for action and adventure movies like “Fast and furious”, “Pirates of the Caribbean”, or comedy movies like “I’m not yet 18.

62. SLEEPING

  • How many hours do you sleep every day?
I am a mental worker so I really need to get enough sleep, but I can not sleep more than 5 hours a day. I have trouble with sleeping. When I sleep, just one sound can wake me up. I know a healthy and deep sleep will make people get wiser, sure, so I tried taking medicine and even went to the doctor but my sleep only slightly improved.
  • Is it necessary to sleep enough?
As I said, a healthy and deep sleep will make people more efficient. If you sleep enough, you will always feel full of energy for working and learning. On the other hand, if you do not get enough sleep, you will get tired and lose the desire to work, even to relax, read and listen to music.
  • Do you think staying up late is a good thing? How often do you stay up late?
Many of us have a habit of going to bed late and waking up late. But I think this has a lot of harmful effects on our health. Staying up late will disturb the body's biological clock, and it often makes our brains get stressed and our limbs numb. I can stay uplate only at weekends, but not too late. Just because if I go to bed late, I will definitely sleep in in the next morning. I hate this because I love the morning air, enjoy reading and drinking coffee in the early morning.

63. MUSIC

  •  Do you often listen to music?
Yes, I’ve been a big fan of music for many years. I sometimes listen to music for about one hour before sleeping at night and also when I am driving. I am very fond of pop music from China and America. When I listen to music, I am almost relaxed.
  • What musical instrument is the most popular in your country?
There are many musical instruments in Vietnam, like piano, violin, guitar, drums, saxophone... but undoubtedly the guitar is the most popular one in our country. Because of this popularity and appeal, the guitar has attracted the teenage generation as well as adults too.
  • Which instrument would you prefer to study?
As I mention before, the guitar is the most popular musical instrument in our country, but I prefer to learn to play the drums. It is a well-known fact that playing the drums is one of the best ways to get rid of stress. It’s true that they are noisy, but the equipment itself offers the feeling of being skillful at something very unique.

64. ENTERTAINMENT

  • What kind of entertainment is the most popular in your country?
There are lot of different kinds of entertainments, like TV, music, live events, computer games. It probably depends on where you live, how old you are and what things you like to do in your free time. When I was at school I used to read a lot of books, listen to music and watch TV. Now I’m older I go out more and listen to live music and watch more movies. I guess the most popular for the majority of people would be TV, watching movies, either at the cinema or on DVD, and going out to parties or to a restaurant with friends.
  • What do you often do in your free time?
As I mention before when I was at school I used to play computer games, listen to music and watch TV. Now I am older and I often hangout with friends to watch movies at cinema. I’m really into watching films because some films are very entertaining and provoking.
  • Do you think it’s important to spend your leisure time with your family?
Normally, when I haven’t get marriage, I used to hang out with close friends in my free time, but after being a mom, I spend more time at home with my family, telling stories to kids or playing games with them. I think it’s very important to spend leisure time with family, that is what makes a family closer and more happy.

65. HOUSEWORK

  • What housework do you like to do?
There is a lot of housework for me as a housewife. But the most housework I like to do is to cook the dinner. I really enjoy cooking the dinner for my family and eating a family dinner together. The dinner is very important to connect people in the family. Eating dinner together as a family provides the opportunity for conversation.
  • Should children do housework?
I agree that, children should take up the housework as soon as they are able to do. First of all, when children help parents with the household tasks, they will learn much. They know how hard did their parents to do the household tasks. Doing the household tasks help them to grow into independent and self confident. When their parents are not at home, they can cook for themselves.

66. FRIENDS

  • Do you have many close friend?
I don’t have many close friends, I have only two close friends. I can hang out with them and have fun. We feel relaxed and have the same point of views. We help each other when we have troubles.

  • Do you think friendship is important?
Sure. We often feel relaxed in a circle of friends. We tell our friends the darkest and deepest secrets. Sometimes we need to be away from our family and our friends give us this time. I think friendship is very important but not the most. We have some other relations in our life such as relations with our mother, father, wife, husband etc.

  •  Are friends more important than family?
Besides a love for my friends, my first priority is my family. My family is the most important to me. Because my family gives me a sense of safety and is the source of motivation. My Family are the people I would give my life for, who I can count on, and who mean everything to me. My family always stands by me, my parents and my brother help me discover myself
